Illustrated with 78 plates reproducing Xing Shaolan’s paintings. An exhibition catalogue of Xing Shaolan’s paintings held at Taicang, Jiangsu in 2005. Including works such as “Liu guo ma tou tong shang tu”, “river and snow”, “listening to the waves”, “fishermen singing at night”, “high mountains and flowing water”, “Autumn mountains”, “clear water flowing on the stone”, “Liu Zongyuan’s poetry”, “cloudy mountains”, “peach blossoms and flowing water”, “green landscape”, “fruits and vegetables”, “spring letters”, “national fragrance”, “plum blossoms and birds”, “secluded orchids” and “long graphite and orchid”.
Xing Shaolan was born in 1938 in Rizhao, Shandong province. He studied under Zhu Qizhan and Song Wenzhi. Xing used to be vice chairman of Taicang Committee of CPPCC, curator of Song Wenzhi Art Museum and president of Loudong Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
