Zhu Xinjian (1953-2014) was a painter born in Nanjing in 1953. He graduated from Nanjing Art Institute and began to teach in the same institution in 1980. He illustrated numerous children’s books before to start his painting career. Zhu held numerous exhibitions in China, Japan, Singapore and in Europe. A painter of naïve and playful eroticism, Zhu Xinjian was one of the most remarkable painters of the postmodern Chinese scene.
