26 lots, Chinese paintings by Zhou Sicong including works such as “children”, “friends”, “feed cattle”, “washing”, “hobnob”, “shepherd” and “lotus”.
Zhou Sicong (1939-1996), a famous Chinese female painter, was born in Ninghe County, Tianjin. She entered the middle school affiliated to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1955 and entered the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1958. Zhou received guidance from various famous artists such as Li Keran, Jiang Zhaohe, Ye Qianyu, Liu Lingcang, Li Kuchan and Guo Weiling. After graduation in 1963, she was assigned to the Chinese Painting Academy in Beijing (now the Beijing Fine Art Academy), where she was a first-class artist. She was an executive director and the vice chairman of Chinese Artists Association. Her husband was the painter Lu Shen.
